TREA extends its deepest sympathies to the family and school community for the loss of 19 year old Avery Koonce, Thrall graduate and member of the USAF.
Please see the information below about the TWC/RECF robotics kits grant that is now available to TREA school districts. The application is located at https://www.robotevents.com/grants However, the district contact will need to set up an account, go to the TWC grant, and apply as a new or returning grantee. So, I recommend the district contact their Regional Support Manager as listed below, let them know they are a TREA District, and proceed from there. If anyone has any questions or problems getting the process started, feel free to have them contact me. I'm excited about this opportunity we can provide to our districts as part of their membership to TREA. Thank you. Bill

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Pablo Torres and the Hico ISD school community. The 2nd grader passed away in a drowning incident last weekend.

I would love to see our small school educators recognized through HEB's Awards Program. I know they're out there, please consider nominating worthy staff members from your district! Bill
Thanks to Brian Stroman, superintendent at Bloomburg ISD and TREA Foundation Board Member, he will assist TREA Superintendents with that process free of charge. Bloomburg was a pilot district and were very successful in that DVA. He is conducting these consults with the appreciation of the TEA, in that the districts Brian has worked with are extremely more prepared to conduct the DVA than those that haven't.
It's my understanding that all districts will have to go through this, and will be on a 4-year cycle.
Our thoughts are with longtime TREA Member District Troy ISD and the Maynard family.

State Representative Jim Pitts was a true statesman and fought for all Texans for many years. He authored and worked with TREA on HB 1064 in 2011, which passed and subsequently saved school districts millions of dollars, collectively. Respectfully, Bill.
